What is a 3FR file?

Hasselblad is a Sweden company that produces not only digital cameras but also digital photography equipment and image scanners with such quality that it was used to capture all still images of the moon on Apollo missions. 3FR format is Hasselblad's proprietary raw image format created on their digital camera. 3FR file contains unprocessed information from the camera sensor that can't be open or modified. To open 3FR files on Mac or Windows operating system, you'll need Adobe Photoshop Elements 14 or CyberLink PhotoDirector 8 Ultra. Also, Hasselblad has a free app for Mac and Windows users that supports a 3FR format called Phocus. 3FR format has lossless compression and support for HNCS(Hasselblad'sHasselblad's Natural Color Solution) technology that includes 16-bit tonal range, advanced algorithms, CMOS sensitivity aspects, and other filters that ensure the reproduction of natural colors.
